The Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has granted Bulgargaz EAD a licence to carry out wholesale natural gas supply for a period of 10 years. The decision certifies that the Bulgarian company meets all conditions and requirements and may conduct commercial activities on the Serbian gas market.
Obtaining a licence to trade in natural gas within the Republic of Serbia forms part of Bulgargaz’s consecutive efforts to expand and strengthen the company’s presence in regional markets and to increase opportunities for cross-border trade in natural gas with countries in Central and South-Eastern Europe.
The company already holds the necessary licences and permits for the trading and supply of natural gas in Greece, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. Bulgargaz also expanded its presence in Moldova through its registered subsidiary Bulgargaz North, which was granted a licence to trade natural gas in the country.
Furthermore, Bulgargaz is a registered user of the gas transmission infrastructure in Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary and Ukraine, which ensures guaranteed access to these markets and creates further opportunities for the development of cross-border natural gas trade in the region.
